Shadows of Darkness
I saw them move like puppets,
step by silent step,
merging deeper into the stillness,
weaving quiet into silence.
As the light waned,
they clung to me—
shadows of darkness,
seeping slowly into my breath,
permeating every vein.
Sparks rose, faltered,
to sculpt them anew,
but they stole the colors,
hiding once more in the dark.
They hover around the sun, the moon, the stars,
dancing along the Milky Way,
from one horizon to the next.
They seep through walls and vents,
descend through chimneys,
stake their claim on doors and windows.
Now they linger in every corner.
